The Flying Papers
A Story Of Family And Hope
Julia Santi’s carefully constructed life in New York City is torpedoed when her ten-year-old niece, Rumi, comes to live with her. Rumi is from rural Mississippi and her only living parent, her father, is missing.
No more fashion boutique on Madison Avenue for Julia. No more carefree evenings with friends, or dates that might culminate in happily ever after. Instead, she trades that life to become a stay-at-home pseudo-parent to a child she has met only once before.

Rumi’s entry into city life is a dismal failure when she is kicked out of an elite private school on her first day there. Julia is horrified that the Santi name is sullied. Rumi does not see what the fuss is about.
Because Rumi always sees the glass as half full.
Even when her father is accused of human trafficking. Even when he is presumed to be either dead or hiding from the law. Even when the aunt who was supposed to love and protect her blames her for ruining her life.
Then again, Rumi knows something nobody else does.
There is a plan. Her father is coming for her.
And they will be together soon.

Book Reviews
Fans of blockbuster thrillers like Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code or the works of James Patterson will appreciate this book’s similar hero and global scope. Leatherbury packs a lot of surprises and action into short, compulsively readable chapters, and by the end, the story has covered a wide range of characters, locations, conspiracies and multiple murders.
From the gruesome scene at the wedding chapel to the heart-stopping end I was totally taken in by this storyline. Vengeance Squared is excellent storytelling, with an intricate plot that takes the reader into the action. Loved, loved, and loved this book! A great way to spend an afternoon at the beach! Excellent work… and one of the best books I have read in years.
This is a consistently-plotted yarn with a firm cop protagonist, plenty of bad guys, and a twisting, turning tale. The story has more than its share of red herrings and evolves into a hunt for an identified perp who has unexpected cult support.
A beautiful country wedding outside New York City turns grisly when the groom, wealthy and well-connected Henry Fullington, falls from the church’s bell tower only moments before the beginning of the ceremony, his body already “torn apart like a rag doll.” A missing best man, a hidden bag of cocaine and a crime scene trampled by panicked guests are all waiting for police officers when they arrive.
I loved the fast-paced plotting of Vengeance Squared and found it hard to put down. Following X and crew through to the finish made for an entertaining read, complete with a villainess that I loved to hate. Leatherbury does a great job of describing characters and settings with precise and engaging language. This dark thriller will keep you guessing until the very end.
Throughout all of the chase sequences, murders, and double crosses in this thriller, Leatherbury shows real skill at building suspense and describing action… She also has created a great villain in mob boss Anthony Calvalentini—a ruthless sociopath who’ll stop at nothing to achieve his goal.
